ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, JULY 18, 2017 <br /> CALL TO ORDER — Mayor Pro Tern Tay called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> INVOCATION — Reverend Thomas Shriver, Emmanuel Assembly of God <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE —Art Del Rey, US Navy World War II Veteran <br /> ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> PRESENT: Beck, Chandler, Verlato, and Tay <br /> ABSENT: Amundson <br /> A motion was made by Council Member Beck, seconded by Council Member Chandler, to <br /> excuse Mayor Amundson from this meeting. <br /> REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING CLOSED/STUDY SESSION ITEMS <br /> City Attorney Deitsch reported that the City Council conducted a Special Meeting at 1:30 p.m. to <br /> consider the one item listed on the posted agenda under Closed Session; he reported that it <br /> was anticipated litigation, one matter, which in his opinion was deemed to have been a threat of <br /> litigation received by letter challenging Arcadia's at-large election of council members as <br /> opposed to election of council members by district, no reportable action was taken. <br /> City Attorney Deitsch further reported that the City Council conducted another Special Meeting <br /> at 5:00 p.m. in order to have Study Session discussion to receive a report from staff regarding <br /> the 2017 Recreation and Parks Master Plan, no action was taken by the City Council after its <br /> discussion. <br /> City Attorney Deitsch further announced that at the same Special Meeting, the City Council <br /> considered the one item listed on the posted agenda, as a litigation matter, under Closed <br /> Session, no reportable action was taken. <br /> SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto reminded the City Council that in June they approved a contract with <br /> Studio Spectrum to upgrade the video capabilities in the Council Chambers, which he reported <br /> is complete, except for a couple of minor items that are being worked on. <br /> MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND WAIVE <br /> THE READING IN FULL <br /> A motion was made by Council Member Chandler, and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Tay to read <br /> all ordinances and resolutions by title only and waive the reading in full. <br /> 1 07-18-2017 <br />
