ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 2016 <br /> CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Beck called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> INVOCATION - Reverend Julie Bryant, Church of the Transfiguration <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE —Tom Tait, Public Works Services Director <br /> ROLL CALL OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> PRESENT: Council Member Amundson, Chandler, Tay, Verlato and Beck <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING OPEN SESSION/STUDY SESSION ITEMS <br /> City Attorney Deitsch reported that the City Council met in a Study Session to conduct <br /> interviews for potential candidates for appointment to the Planning Commission; and it is <br /> anticipated that an appointment will be made at the June 21 City Council meeting. <br /> City Attorney Deitsch further reported that the City Council conducted a Study Session to <br /> consider the one item listed on the posted agenda regarding the Presentation on the State of <br /> Crime in Arcadia and overview of Arcadia Police Department Operations, and that upon motion <br /> by Council Member Chandler, seconded by Council Member Tay, the City Council unanimously <br /> approved to reallocate $150,000 from Fiscal Year 2015-16 budget to purchase automated <br /> license plate readers and GPS devices for the Police Department. <br /> SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM CITY MANAGER REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS <br /> City Manager Lazzaretto stated that one additional protest letter regarding Public Hearing item <br /> 1.a. was received after the agenda was posted and distributed to the City Council. <br /> MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND WAIVE <br /> THE READING IN FULL <br /> It was moved by Council Member Tay, seconded by Council Member Chandler, to read all <br /> ordinances and resolutions by title only and waive the reading in full. <br /> PRESENTATIONS <br /> a. Presentation of Arcadia Beautiful Awards. <br /> b. Presentation of Mayor's Certificate of Commendation to Arcadia High School <br /> student Philip Chao for winning the Gates Millennium Scholarship. <br /> c. Presentation of Mayor's Certificates of Commendation to the Apaches Tennis <br /> Team for winning their first CIF Southern Section title. <br /> 1 06-07-2016 <br />
